MARCH AIR FORCE BASE or RESERVE BASE, California. As it turned out, about 170,000 people attended this year’s March Airfest Thunder Over the Empire. As you already know, I was one of them. I attended both days, and am very pleased with all the photos I was able to capture. I have never been to an airshow, but after seeing this year’s March Airfest Thunder Over the Empire, I am hooked. I am definitely going next year. Is there a Thunder Over the Empire next year..??

Excerpt from PE.com, the local paper:

The roar of jet engines and plumes of white smoke filled the air over March Field Air Reserve Base Saturday as fighter jets, biplanes and military carrier jets took part in the 2008 Thunder Over the Empire air show.

About 170,000 people, up from 150,000 last year, came to watch the show that included demonstrations by the Army’s Golden Knights precision parachute team, the F-22 Raptor and the Air Force Thunderbirds.

Here is another photo from the bunch that I took, and the rest are here.
